A fulfilled experience for Charly ! In the Loire at first, then in Italy and alongside his father Jean-Paul, to learn about the life of the vine and about wine of course. Then came the time to vinify under his own name on the Régnié terroir for the true assets it provided. First of all for its closeness to the heart of the family tradition in Villié-Morgon. And second because this unknown appellation offered plots of land that were easier to acquire than plots nearby on other appellations. In 2007, he settled down there for good with his 7,5 hectares and his talent.
There the gamay expresses itself wonderfully on granitic soils with south and south west orientation. Apples do not fall far from the tree of course and Charly runs his vines following biodynamic principle, without input. Fermentation follows a classical rule for the area, carbonic maceration and no external yeast input. All this reveals delicious, subtle and long keeping wines. Let it be said that the Thévenet family has many years to come !
