Our opinion on this winery

Charles Dufour, originally from Landreville in the Aube, near Bar-sur-Seine, embodies a new generation of small winemakers who started producing haute-couture Champagne. After having started to work for the family business (the vines of his father and the vines of his mother) in 2006, Charles began the radical conversion of the vines to organic, the end process taking effect from the 2010 harvest. All of the grapes produced by Charles Dufour (“Les Vignes du 7”) are therefore certified. Being certified organic is particularly difficult for Champagne because of the weather, which is rainy and cold. Yet  Charles has successfully created some very fine natural wines  (Champagne) with a magnificent artisanal signature. Some people call him "the Selosse of the Aube" !

Charles Dufour lives and works on a family vineyard covering 6ha. He presses what he grows, he vinifies what he presses, and he markets what he vinifies. In addition he helps his mother (Françoise Marinot), who also brings him organic grapes (pinot noir) which he vinifies, ages and to which he brings his personal touch. This is the “Bistrøtage” range, which he markets and which we, too, propose, quite simply because the quality is incredible ! Charles exports almost 90% of his production… it is therefore with great joy that we offer you the opportunity to (re)discover the work of a singular character, neighbour to Gautherot, Valérie Frison, Cédric Bouchard... To be drunk in moderation, even if that can be difficult with wines like these !
