After studying law and an appointment as a local government officer in the préfecture, Valentin decided to renew with his Jurassian farmer’s roots. A choice, natural thought and career change completed by readings on the meaning of work value and intellectual approach on jobs wrongly regarded as manual. In 2014, Valentin took over the 6 ha of the domaine and called it « Les pieds sur terre » (“ Down to earth”) revealing a state of mind but also giving tribute to the pioneers of “Organic” culture.
Renowned to be hard to work, this particular soil is cultivated in an organic mode. Mostly made of trias marlstone, more or less heavy, it needs important vine work to favour soil’s life, mainly with a pickaxe, the ultimate tool of the winegrower. Ever since, Valentin has been providing magnificent vintages, reflection of a terroir combined with total involvement of a dynamic and promising winegrower.
