It was in 2002 that native of Burgundy Maxime Magnon settled in the Corbières region and more precisely in Villeneuve-les-Corbières. Before that he worked with Philippe Valette and Thierry Allemand, two big names. Inspired by Didier Barral, his neighbour, he reintroduced goats, donkeys and cows. The 14- hectare vineyard is manually tended with the help of a tracked vehicle. In order to preserve the soils, neither pesticides nor insecticides are used. And from November to mid-April, the animals graze among the vines, which encourages microbial activity in soils. --- Whole bunches start fermenting with only wild yeasts. The rest of the vinification process is entirely natural. Only the white wines are slightly filtered and extremely small doses of sulphur are added at the time of bottling. Maxime’s wines- both red and white-are fresh, fruity, balanced and mineral. Corbières wines used to be badly thought of but have regained prestige thanks to winemakers like Maxime Magnon, Xavier Ledogar or Magali Terrier. We are honoured to be finally able to put Maxime’s superb wines on our wine list. Thank you for trusting us Maxime !
