Bruno Rochard’s vineyard has been organically cultivated since 2009. It covers 6.5 hectares planted with Cabernet Franc (2ha), Grolleau (1.3ha) including century-old vines. In 1998 Bruno took over the family business which until then had been using conventional practices. Bruno had to work twice as hard to clean up the soils and work out their complexity. His top priority is to respect the living and mineral world as well as to give this domain the full potential it deserves. The estate was certified organic but has adopted biodynamic principles using preparations and concoctions. --- Needless to say that vinification relies on ambient yeasts using neither selected yeast nor sugar addition. Depending on the grapes’characteristics the musts may be vinified in tanks. Minimal doses of SO2- from 1 to 3 g per hl- may be added at the time of racking and bottling, two operations which are scheduled according to the lunar calendar. --- Bruno Rochard is an overjoyed, welcoming and smiling winegrower whose wines looks like him: precise, straight, full of freshness and –for most of them- easy-drinking.
