Jo Landron is a colourful character, always a smile on his lips and sporting a nice moustache. Like a wine comedian, really ! But also a serious man when it comes to giving you all the details about his work and the vineyard: 48 hectares of a mix of gneiss and clay. Or should we say his domains: Domaine de la Louveterie and Château de la Carizière planted with Melon de Bourgogne on the heights of the Sèvre river.
This is the work of an artist whose aim is to come back to good old 1940’s practices, forgetting about mechanization and the use of chemicals. Impeccably tended wines. Wild yeasts, thermo-regulated fermentations to obtain natural freshness, aged on lees and no fining for the 9 wines, each of them with their own character, rich and mineral, indeed that is “natural”!
