Our opinion on this winery

As is often the case in the world of so-called “ natural winemakers” the wines look like their creators. Here, in Anjou Noir, in St Lambert du Lattay, shared between the appellation of Coteaux du Layon Villages and Anjou, René Mosse works his vineyard with his wife Agnès. Since 1999 they have adopted organic methods : no imputs, no pesticides, respect for biodiversity which plays such a great role in bringing out the terroir and the identity of wines. After owning a wine bar in Tours for several years he learnt the job in Burgundy before finally settling in Pays de Loire. Today his wines are “Qualité France” certified and he also joined the “Association des Vins Naturels” (Association of Natural Wines) (A.V.N).

Thanks to such meticulous hard work, he can now rival with masters like Pithon, Chidaine, Puzelat etc…who put him on the right tracks a few years back. So precise wines, rich, frank, powerful and delicate at the same time, with natural juice and obvious minerality. Delicate harvest, light pressing, wild yeasts, no aromatic additives, no too marked maturing give his wines a particular character far from the drab uniformity.
