Our opinion on this winery

After 7 years with the Pfifferling (Domaine de l’Anglore), Romain le Bar set up on his own in  2018 with a little over one hectare of vines in Tavel.
At that time he was still working as a farmhand at the  Domaine de l’Anglore and, simultaneously, managing the harvest of his own freshly acquired (April 2018) grenache and syrah vines. He made the wines in his garage, simply, but not without a certain skill ! His first vintage was a complete success with two wines, a Tavel and a Vin de France, which were immediately recognised by the experts.
Low yields, hand picking, little or no intervention in the cellar (low doses of SO2), this is the DNA of Romain’s wines. The wine is produced through carbonic maceration, with direct pressing. The wines are then aged in several-wine casks.
In the same line as Pfifferling wines, these wines are infused, pure and bring to the fore the fruit, together with floral notes, all with a controlled acidity that brings with it the freshness that goes so well with regional wines!
Since 2019, Romain has been working full-time on his domain, which he has extended (10 hectares today), at the same time diversifying the grapes that grow on the domain. He has left his garage to make his wine in a cellar enjoying 200 square metres of floor space.
Watch out, with Le Bar, the bar will be high; here is a future big name in Tavel wine!
