Settled in Sigoulès in the Périgord region, Camille and Mathias Marquet, call themselves "néo-vignerons", (new-winegrowers) ! After studies and professional experiences away from the world of wine, they both ended up taking a viti-oeno BTS degree in Bordeaux at different period as Camille studied psychology first, then they took over Mathias grandfather’s vineyard as tenants, skipping his parents generation who had kept the vines though.
They started in 2008 following organic principle then biodynamics a few years later.
Situated at the confluence of the Dordogne, the Lot and the Gironde rivers, the vines are south of the Bergerac appellation. On 13 ha, 3 types of terroirs are clearly identified through the wines they produce : silty clays, clay limestone hillsides with north exposure and limestone and flint soils. All the vines develop there in a diversified environment and mixed farming (breeding, cereal, market gardening).
Camille and Mathias point out their simple vinification method : 100% grapes ! More precisely that means indigenous yeast, no added input. They mainly look for true vintage and terroir for each cuvée. Very little filtration, very little sulphur, in short, straight live wines, characterized by their terroirs !
