In his early years-aged 14-Elian Da Ros already dreamt of becoming a winegrower. During his studies he met people who influenced him like Jacky Clerget in Montpellier, Laurent Vaillé of Domaine La Grange des Pères and last but not least Léonard Humbrecht of Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, in Alsace. These inspired people helped him make his dream come true: making his own wine and pursue his passion. Back in his native lad and assisted by Matthieu Cosse- the new oenologist of the local cooperative winery-he vinified his first vintage in 1998.
The 7hectare family domain has now grown to 22 hectares and he received organic certification in 2000 and the biodynamic seal in 2003. The vineyard is split into 4 distinct islets on gravelly and clay-limestone soils. Each parcel is individually vinified in concrete tanks first then in barrels. There are 50% red grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Abouriou, Malbec and Syrah. The parcels of white grapes cover 2.5 hectares planted with Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris.
