About 10 years ago, Bruno Debon ( a previous Photographer, with a degree from Arles “ École Nationale Supérieure of Photography”) took a 180° turn towards growing organic apples. 2500 apple trees (6 varieties) planted from 2010. He used to sell his entire production (fruit, juices, dried apples, stewed apples) through the AMAP network and to a selection of restaurants in the region. There happened to be 2 ha of vines on the domaine, and following the same process with the grapes became logical. His meetings and friendship with Cyril Fhal, Jean-Christophe Comor, … slowly led him to greater freedom. In 2018, Bruno Debon ‘s work took him to greater respect of his environment and beyond organic certification, he is definitely “looking for humanity, sharing and truth”. “2018 marked a deep will to discover more live wines, good juices that arouse greed. A trip that makes nature your ally and where man involves himself as a paysant, as a humble artist and when meeting winegrowers and other passionate leads to more freedom, probably a more demanding way» - (Bruno Debon himself)
The Domaine Terres des Nus, located at Châteaudouble in the Var region hardly covers 2 ha of vines spread over 1 ha of apple orchard in front of the house down a limestone canyon. Further down in the plains lay 3 small plots of vines (50 years old Syrah, 20 years old Grenache, Vermentino (also called Rolle), Roussanne and freshly planted thyme… Above Châteaudouble at 600 meters high, there is a plot waiting to welcome Savagnin, then « Lo mas d’en garrigue » a beautiful 70 years old Macabeu vine on a schiste terroir with north east exposure climbing over the crest above Montner village in Pyrénées Orientales(western pyrenees). Those vines were found by Cyril Fhal (Clos Rouge-Gorge) one of Bruno Debon ’s friends. Those old vines are worked, pruned, and harvested for Bruno and Cyril and they are usually vinified at Cyril ’s.
All following organic process (bio) (certified Ecocert) and with no input.
